New statistics show basketball's unprecedented growth in New Zealand has continued, and the sport is tipped to become the most popular secondary school sport in the country by 2026.
Basketball participation has surged by 61% since the year 2000, while more traditional sports like netball, rugby, and cricket have seen a decline in numbers.
But it's estimated New Zealand is around 500 basketball courts short to cope with demand.
